The reason side lettering was first used on Porsche Race & Road cars came after the 1966 Sebring race in USA. Porsche Engineering leader Dr. Helmut Bott overheard someone mistake a Porsche 910 for "a beautiful new Alfa". From then on all race cars were to be clearly marked with the Porsche name. The decals became popular after that, so the factory offered them on series production cars. We believe the original style first appeared on the SWB 911 in 1967 through to at least 1973.

The decals shown here are direct copies of unused originals commissioned by Porsche of America. The original items were described as a "Porsche Lettering & Stripe Kit" with the Part No. ZPW146 112 for White, ZPW146 113 for Black.

The stripes have a very"blocky" appearance to the letters, for any restoration of an early 911 SWB to concours condition these stripes are indistinguishable from the originals.

The decal kit contains both the RH & LH sides specifically made to fit 911 & 930 models.
The decals have been computer cut from high quality 3M graphic film, designed to last up to 7 years.

The stripes are supplied complete with application tape and fitting instructions. It is recommended this kit is applied by a professional or experienced applicator.
